The Planning Application

Oracle Residential Limited have submitted a planning application to Wandsworth Council to develop the land at 84-88 Upper Richmond Road, Putney, South West London. The planning application is currently being considered by the Council. It seeks planning permission for the erection of 2 tower blocks on the site - one of 26 storeys, the other 21 storeys.

Full details of the planning application can be found on Wandsworth Council's website by using the following link: http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/gis/search/Search.aspx
Search under application number 2008/3321 and then click on "View related documents" for more details.

Alternatively you can visit Wandsworth Council's Technical Services Department in person and ask to look at the planning application file (ref: 2008/3321). They are located on Level 5 of the Town Hall Extension Building, Wandsworth High Street, London.

What do you think of the height, bulk, scale and design of the tower blocks? Will they overshadow or overlook your property? Are you worried about traffic, congestion and parking? What impact will over 300 new flats have on existing infrastructure? Will these tall buildings set a precedent for more development like this in Putney, particularly along the Upper Richmond Road?

WE BELIEVE THAT THIS DEVELOPMENT WILL HAVE A SIGNIFICANT ADVERSE IMPACT UPON PUTNEY.

Thank you for starting this site, it looks good and is giving all the necessary details for getting the letters of objection rolling in. It is no use moaning about the proposals, the Council needs to be made aware of our genuine and valid concerns.
Thanks again

Transport capacity at East Putney District Line: Oracle's Transport Assessment Report claims that the new development will add less than 1% to the current number of passengers using the District Line in the morning peak hours (0.81%between 7 and 8 a.m., 0.61% between 8 and 9 a.m, 0.97% between 9 and 10.
This claim is based on the premise that only 325 residents will depart the blocks each morning (out of an estimated 478 people). Only 117 out of the total would travel to work by tube; 79 will walk to work and 61 will take the train. This incredible assumptions permit them to conclude that the impact on capacity will be minimal.

The developer's transport assessment will have cost 10's of thousands of pounds and have been prepared by experts in transportation analysis ..... and yet Isabel can tell that it is wrong just by reading the summary.
